Do you deliver?
Yes! In Playa del Carmen you can order most of our treats for home delivery. In other parts of Mexico, you can buy Ah Cacao packaged goods in our online store.
Are you vegan and/or gluten free?
The majority of Ah Cacao's packaged goods are vegan and gluten free. In our chocolate café stores you'll find a range of vegan and/or gluten free options. Click here to peruse our menu.
Where can I buy Ah Cacao products?
You can buy Ah Cacao products in our online store, in Ah Cacao Chocolate Cafés stores, and many other stores. Click here for a full list. Please note that not all products are sold at all locations.
Is Ah Cacao Mexican?
es, Ah Cacao is a proudly Mexican company based in Playa del Carmen. All the cacao and coffee you enjoy from Ah Cacao is grown in Mexico on family-run farms. Discover Ah Cacao's story.
Can I buy a franchise?
Ah Cacao has no plans to offer franchises but there may be opportunites to co-invest in the future. If you are interested in participating in Ah Cacao's growth, please register your interest here.
Can you support my event or cause?
Ah Cacao can often donate products and prizes for community events in the regions where we operate. Financial support is available for wildlife conservation projects. Please contact us if you have a project in need of support.
Can I visit the Ah Cacao chocolate factory?
Of course! Once a month the Ah Cacao chocolate factory is open to visitors. For dates and reservations please contact us.
Can I sell Ah Cacao product?
Yes! We love to make the joy of Ah Cacao chocolate and coffee available to as many people as possible. Please send us a message and we will respond with the details of how you can sell our products.
What's the difference between "Cacao" and "Cocoa"?
There is no difference! "Cocoa" is simply an English-language varient of the word "Cacao" and the two terms are completely interchangable and are used to refer to the tree Theobroma Cacao and its seeds (known as "cocoa beans" in English). At Ah Cacao we use the term "Cacao" exclusively as this is the original word, handed down to us from at least the Olmec civilization who cultivated cacao in Mexico over 3,000 years ago.
Do your products contain cadmium or lead?
Your wellbeing is our primary concern so we laboratory test regularly to ensure that cadmium and lead levels are well within safe levels.
Are your products organic?
All the cacao used in Ah Cacao products is grown organically and the farms are visited regularly to ensure that best practices are followed. However only a few of our growers are certified due to the high costs charged by the certification agencies. We hope to resolve this in the future.
Are you fair trade?

Is your cacao or chocolate raw?
No. All our cacao is gently roasted to bring out its delicious flavors and to ensure it is safe for consumption. If you're concerned about the posibility of nutrients being lost by heating, our suggestion is to just eat more!
Is your chocolate slave-free?
Yes! All the cacao used in the chocolate you enjoy is bought at fair prices directly from family-run farms in the Mexican states of Chiapas and Tabasco. Farm workers are paid a living wage and all children in Mexico attend school at least up to secondary level, with many receiving third level education.
